Greetings Dana Middle School Community,
This is Principal Donohoe, with some reminders regarding our fast-approaching new school year.
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL: The first day of school is Wednesday, August 12th. Our gates open at 7:30am, the “travel-to-class” bell rings at 7:50am, and school begins at 8:00am.
STUDENTS’ CLASS SCHEDULES: All students will start their first day by going to their Homeroom to get their class schedule. Students should check Schoology on Tuesday, August 11th to identify their Homeroom classroom number and Homeroom teacher. Homeroom lists will also be posted on campus on the first morning, and staff will assist any students needing guidance in finding their way to their Homeroom.
ENTERING CAMPUS: Both of the student entrance gates - North Side and South Side - are located on Cabrillo Ave, and students should enter campus based on where their Homeroom is located:

North Side Entrance: Cabrillo & 14th St: Homeroom Room #: 200s, 300s, 400s |
South Side Entrance: Cabrillo & 16th St: Homeroom Room #: 170, 500s |
Dismissal: Students will exit from either the North Side Gate or the South Side Gate, depending on where their last class of the day is located. Students will not be dismissed from the front doors of the school.
Safety Alerts: Parents & Guardians who are picking up or dropping off using an automobile, please do not park, idle, or drop-off / pick-up in the bus zones. Also, be advised that Class-3 E-bikes require the user to be 16 years or older; they will not be allowed on campus.
